September 2023 Reading Plan

Psalm 119

Men: This may be the least-read chapter in the Bible. Being the longest chapter in the Bible, many look at it and move on to Psalm 120. Since we are NOT in a hurry to read the Bible just to read it, we will break it down into the 22 stanzas with which it was written.

This is a psalm about the goodness of God’s ways. His Law, commandments, statutes, and decrees. His precepts, judgments, testimonies, and Word. If you wish, it is worthwhile to create your glossary of terms based on your translation to learn more about these riches that the writer of Psalm 119 is so enamored with.

Regardless, take your time as you read the longest chapter in the Bible. Read each stanza twice. Or, read each stanza in different translations. If your experience is like mine, by about day five you will be more and more excited and drawn into not only the Word, but the One who wrote the Word…and the One who became the Word!

Enjoy!
